Meet Teacher Luisa

Our founder’s story: a Colombian voice, ten years in education, and a love of helping children grow.

Teacher Luisa, founder of SpanishJoyClub

A new language starts with a connection

For Teacher Luisa, a lesson begins with a child feeling welcome. A familiar activity. A question they want to ask. A little space to try something new.

Originally from Colombia, Luisa is a psychologist with ten years of experience in educational settings and expertise in family and personal development. She brings that understanding of children and families to SpanishJoyClub.

More than a list of new words

Her Colombian roots give Spanish a personal connection to language and culture. Her educational experience informs an approach that makes room for each child’s interests, questions and pace.

Songs, stories, games and conversation help give Spanish a place in a child’s everyday world. The aim is to make learning welcoming, meaningful and enjoyable.

Bringing that approach home

SpanishJoyClub offers in-person Spanish classes for children and teens aged 3–17 in Mississauga and nearby GTA areas. Four age-based programs give families a clear starting point, with the next steps discussed together.
