This policy explains how Spanish Joy Club handles personal information when you check our service area, contact us or book an at-home Spanish lesson. It also explains the cookies and similar technologies used by this website.
Who to contact
Spanish Joy Club provides in-person Spanish lessons for children and teens in Mississauga and nearby communities. Luisa is your contact for privacy questions and requests: info@spanishjoyclub.com.
Information we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, postal code, your child’s age group, preferred times and any message you choose to send.
- WhatsApp enquiries: your name, email, source page, enquiry reference and follow-up permission. We save these privately in WordPress before opening WhatsApp. Starting a chat permits us to respond to your enquiry; it does not subscribe you to promotional emails.
- Bookings: parent or caregiver contact details, the lesson address, the child’s age or age group, appointment details and information needed to arrange the lesson.
- Payments: payment method, amount, payment status and transaction or booking references. Stripe processes card details through its payment service. Please do not send card numbers or banking credentials by email or through our enquiry form.
- Website operation: technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, request logs and security identifiers may be processed by the website, hosting and payment services. Our enquiry form uses a temporary, hashed IP identifier to limit repeated submissions.
Please share only what we need to arrange your child’s lesson. Avoid including medical information or other sensitive details in the initial enquiry.
How we use your information
We use these details to estimate coverage, reply to questions, recommend an age-appropriate program, arrange and manage appointments, send booking and payment messages, reconcile payments and maintain required business records. Technical information helps us operate the website, troubleshoot problems and prevent misuse.
The coverage tool compares your postal code with a postal-location index held on our website. Its result is an estimate; we may need to confirm the lesson address before arranging a visit.
Email updates and offers
Spanish class updates and offers by email are optional and separate from support for your enquiry. If we introduce an email subscription, we will ask separately whether you would like to receive these messages. Starting a WhatsApp chat or accepting this Privacy Policy does not give permission for promotional emails. You can contact Luisa to change your preferences.
Parents, caregivers and children
Our enquiries and booking forms are intended for adults arranging lessons for children aged 3–17. A parent or authorized caregiver should submit the information and manage the booking. We use information about a child to arrange and provide the lesson. If a child submits information directly, or you believe information was provided without the appropriate authorization, contact Luisa so we can review it.
Service providers and payments
Our website uses WordPress and Amelia to manage enquiries and bookings, Hostinger for hosting and website email, and Stripe for card payments. Information relevant to your request or booking may be processed through these services. Interac e-Transfer payments are handled through your financial institution and the recipient’s banking service.
Service providers may process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to address misuse or protect the safety of our service.
Stripe explains its handling of personal information in its Privacy Policy. When you continue to WhatsApp, the message includes your name and enquiry reference; your email is not placed in the WhatsApp link. WhatsApp and any connected messaging assistant handle the conversation through their services. If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp or visit Instagram, those services handle information under their own policies.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Similar browser storage and security identifiers can help a website remember a session or protect a form.
- Website and booking functions: WordPress, the booking interface and forms may use cookies or temporary browser storage to support sessions, form security and booking steps. Administrative login cookies apply when an authorized administrator signs in.
- Payment security: Stripe’s payment technology loads on the website and may use cookies and device or browser signals for secure payment processing and fraud prevention, including before you complete a payment. See Stripe’s cookie information.
You can delete or restrict cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Restricting them may affect the booking form or payment process. With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, program age-group interest, enquiries, WhatsApp handoffs and booking steps. Analytics may process browser and device information, approximate location, traffic sources and pseudonymous identifiers. We do not send your name, email, phone number, lesson address, messages or exact child age to Analytics. Analytics is optional and loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Advertising personalization is disabled. You can choose or change your analytics preference in the Analytics preferences section on this Privacy Policy page. We do not display an analytics popup when you enter the website. Declining analytics does not affect enquiries, chat or booking. Google processes this information under its privacy policies, potentially outside Canada.
Retention and safeguards
We retain enquiry, booking and payment records for as long as needed to respond, provide lessons, resolve issues and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Temporary form-security records expire automatically. We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information, but no internet transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact Luisa to request access to your personal information, correct an error, ask about how it is used, request deletion or withdraw consent to a use of the information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Legal recordkeeping requirements may limit what we can delete, and withdrawing information needed for a lesson or payment may prevent us from completing that service. We will explain any applicable limits.
You can enquire without completing a booking. Optional fields can be left blank. If you have a privacy concern, email info@spanishjoyclub.com so we can address it. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Policy updates
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. A new use of personal information that requires consent will be explained separately.
Coverage data credits
The postal-location data used for our coverage estimate is provided by GeoNames under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence. We have filtered and indexed the data and added distance calculations for our service area. Postal locations and coverage results are approximate.
